Disable Middle Click Pastes function on a Mouse in Ubuntu

Ubuntu has a nice feature of pasting the contents of the clipboard when you hit the middle button on the mouse. Except when you are scrolling a lot, you often end up with all sorts of text in what you are working on.

To disable this feature, open a Terminal window and run

xmodmap -e "pointer = 1 25 3 4 5 6 7 8 9"

To persist this behavior, edit ~/.Xmodmap and add

pointer = 1 25 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

done.
